There are certain criteria to be observed by students before being admitted to study in any of the courses in any university. The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has released the cut-off mark for the 2020/2021 academic session admission exercise.Only the candidates who scored 160 and above in the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Examination and who have chosen University of Calabar as their First Choice in their application for admission are eligible for the post UTME screening exercise.

The University of Calabar holds her admission screening exercises within a week or couple of weeks and it usually comes in two phases. Students who applied to study in the school are to proceed for the pre-screening exercise when once it is being announced.

Documents required for the pre-screening exercise are: SSCE result and JAMB registration print out only.

It is often important that a candidate arrive early and locate his/her screening venue early. Candidates will be screen on the JAMB scores and their SSCE result.

University of Calabar post -Utme examination usually holds on July/August of every year.

So it is very important you check your OLevel result and know your stand on time

Now jamb subject combination is very crucial , once you register wrong subjects for a particular course you will be denounced admission. Lots of candidates lost their admission because of this mistake ..so check and confirm your Jamb subject combination before your post -Utme.

All Jamb results for 2020 session have been released now you know your stands, if you know you scored lower than you expected and you feel it's impossible for you to use your post-UTME result to level up your score I advise you change to a related course .

For example Mr B scored 220 in Jamb and wants to study Law and he feels he might not hit up to 320 in post-Utme to level the score up then my advise is Mr B have to switch to a related course like History and International Relations or English and Literary studies etc . Example two: Mr C wants to study Medicine And he scores 260 in Jamb and he is not too sure he can score up to 330 in post -Utme my advise is Mr C should change his course to a medical related course like; Dentistry, medical lab, Anatomy, biochemistry or Radiography, etc.

UNICAL post-Utme for all candidates takes just 1 week. it's usually starts on Monday and ends on Friday then Aspirants with any other challenging issues can sit for the examination on Saturday.

UNICAL post-Utme is a computer based test.

YOU CAN STILL - change your course imidaitely after you see your post -Utme result in case you want to give your dream course a trial -shot .

About UNICAL JUPEB Programme

University of Calabar Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examination body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The Programme leads to the award of JUPEB certificate which enables candidates gain Direct Entry Admission into University of Calabar and other JUPEB – affiliated Universities in Nigeria and abroad. University of Calabar is one of the partnering Universities for JUPEB.

Successful candidates will be eligible for Direct Entry admission (200 level) in the University and other participating Universities through Jamb. Admission of JUPEB graduates into University of Calabar programmes shall be based strictly on merit and other entry requirements in proportion to the admission quota of the University for Various Programmes.

How to Apply for UNICAL JUPEB Admission

Applicants are to visit https://jupeb.unical.edu.ng/apply. On the “Generate Payment Invoice” column, enter your First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Phone number and e-mail address, in the spaces provided and click on “Generate Invoice”. Your generated Application Invoice will then appear on your screen. Make sure you print the page.

Take the printed Application Invoice to any Bank, Nationwide. Tell the Cashier that you are there for Unical JUPEB Application Form payment, then hand over your Application Invoice to him/her (NB: Inform the Cashier, that the payment is to be made via eTranzact).

When you are done with the payment of N15,000.00 (plus a Bank charge), the cashier will give you a printed Payment Receipt page containing your Confirmation Order No. Take the Payment Receipt back to the portal (Please do not do this application using your phone to avoid errors, it must be done on a PC).

Go back online. On the “Continue Registration” column, enter the “Confirmation Order No” from your Payment Receipt in the space provided, then hit the “Proceed” button.

Complete your Application and attach your passport (the passport must be a color passport photograph on a white background and must not be more than 3 months old before the time of application), then click submit.

Print out your acknowledgment slip.
